Innovation and Investment with FedDev Ontario

Ascension Automation Solutions is proud to be part of a nearly $40.5 million funding package delivered to Waterloo Region and Brant tech and manufacturing businesses by the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario as part of the Government of Canada’s Regional Tariff Response Initiative.

Announced in Kitchener, Ontario on July 23^rd, Ascension is one of 23 local businesses who are receiving support through this initiative, which aims to boost domestic innovation and economic growth via investments in key industries.

CEO Andrew Morgan and CTO Jesse Cutting were on hand as the Honourable Evan Solomon, Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation and Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario, made the exciting announcement along with his colleagues the Honourable Bardish Chagger, Member of Parliament for Waterloo, and the Honourable Tim Louis, Member of Parliament for Kitchener-Conestoga.

With this cashflow injection, Ascension gains momentum towards establishing its new, local, and fully automated production hub, which will support Ontario’s housing sector with its ability to produce high-quality purpose-built residential homes at fair, buyer-focused prices.

This $21.2-million project will bring a range of jobs to the region, especially in skilled trades, and will support the province’s need for speed and quality to support its affordable housing goals to transform a lagging industry.

As champions for strong Canadian supply chains and domestic economic growth, the Ascension team are thrilled to move forward with this tremendous investment in our local housing sector. We are innovating and iterating to exceed the limitations of traditional construction with AI-native digital design, factory-built construction, and controlled, serialized logistics.
