Congratulations are in order for our CEO, Andrew Morgan, as he has been named an EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2025 Ontario finalist. Being named among the regional finalists is an incredible honour and is reflective of the tremendous effort Andrew and the Ascension leadership team have undertaken in establishing and growing the business. A 4872% year-over-year revenue growth doesn’t happen by accident—it’s the result of years of hard work, sacrifice, and building a passionate, high-performing team.
Ascension Automation was born out of a simple desire – to create. But what started as a passion project has grown into a multimillion-dollar enterprise through a series of calculated risks, leaps of faith, and a great deal of grit. When Andrew first dipped his toe in the entrepreneurial waters, it was in the evenings and weekends while working full-time in a solid, high-growth career. Ascension’s first office was a hotel room on a job thousands of kilometers from home; that eventually expanded to a private garage on Andrew’s property, and now into the high-production facility the business occupies today. That tenacity has prevailed – Andrew is often found getting his hands dirty, brainstorming novel solutions, and living in the thick of pushing the business forward.

That initial desire to create has transformed into a true mission to impact the world for the better. “We never seek to make minor improvements, but rather to make monumental shifts in each industry we touch. My focus with Ascension has always been to create beautiful things. Whether that is through building magnificent products, building exquisite code, or building simplistic processes, everything we do at Ascension I drive with that in mind,” says Morgan. The business is working to file more than 200 patents, all of which are inspired by seeking out problems in day-to-day life and pursuing novel solutions that make things better. These solutions touch industries such as housing and ag tech, which have very real implications for everyday people.
Despite the supercharged growth and the rapid expansion of offerings, Ascension has stayed grounded in its humble beginnings. The business is operated by the same core ownership group, with no outside fundraising or investors. Maintaining a small shop mentality while growing into an established, recognized name in AI and robotics has given Ascension a unique ability to build rapidly, strategically, and in a way that is optimized for the market.
As Ascension continues to scale, we remain committed to innovation, impact, and staying true to our roots. Congratulations again to Andrew and the entire team—this recognition is just the beginning.
