Controls Technician

Requirements

We are currently looking for experienced employees in the Controls Technician field to join our team.


Key Responsibilities – Controls Technician:


  • Commission, setup, install, and program PLCs and HMIs in accordance with the customer requirements

  • Develop and design control systems logic

  • PLC integration (Allen Bradley, Siemens, HMI’s)

  • Experience in integration of PLC’s, HMI’s and VFD’s in automated lines and systems in the automotive, aerospace, medical or heavy steel industries, experience in additional industries will be considered

  • Ensure test procedures are performed smoothly and safely by surrounding technicians

  • Record data from test parts and assemblies

  • Assist project teams in reviewing documents and plans

  • Investigate malfunctioning/damaged products, identify problems and report findings to lead Engineer(s)


Additional Qualifications:


  • Provide excellent customer service when working on location

  • Employ clear communication skills with customers, management lead Engineers and other employees

  • Adhere to all related safe work practices and customer safety requirements

  • Work in accordance with lead Engineer specifications and guidelines

  • Generate documentation to support quality compliance programs as required


Education Requirements:


  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Automation/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Technology etc.)

  • Relevant work experience will be considered


Experience:


  • Minimum 7 years of relevant industry experience required

  • Minimum 2 years of system integration experience

  • Experience with Allen Bradley or Siemens PLCs and HMIs is an asset

  • Experience with E Plan software is beneficial

  • Automotive / Assembly industry experience is beneficial

  • Local travel (within Southern Ontario) will be required.


Remuneration and Vacation:

Training for a variety of skills is available through internal and external training offerings. Employee progress will be evaluated annually through performance reviews.


Starting wage rates/hour will follow the ranges below and will be determined based on skill and experience.


Junior $27.00 - $35.00

Mid-Level $36.00 - $45.00

Senior $46.00 - $65.00


Vacation will begin at 2 weeks for the first year.

*Additional $5/hr will apply for work performed at customer locations
