Requirements
Roles and Responsibilities
We are currently looking for a skilled and motivated Machinist to operate a variety of machines to complete given projects & tasks. You will be expected to produce/repair precision parts using both automated and manual equipment with accurate measurements. We are looking for an experienced individual with a keen eye for detail, can work independently while demonstrating and adhering to Health and Safety precautions.
A strong candidate will demonstrate a solid ability to:
Must be able to draw and generate programs with MasterCAM, as well as make programs on CNC controller on shop floor
Review drawings, instructions or sample parts to grasp the specifications of the project
Plan and organize the sequence of actions needed for completion
Select and setup the appropriate machines
Calculate and set controls to regulate speeds and feeds in order to complete work in a controlled and safe manner.
Perform quality control on pieces produced to ensure they are within the proper specifications
Keep track of good and scrap parts
Perform routine machine maintenance and carry out minor repairs when necessary to ensure the machines are working properly
Qualifications and Core Skills
Should have own set of basic tools to support their machinist trade (micrometers, indicators, caliper etc.)
At least 3 years’ experience in the field as a machinist
Experience using/programming manual, semi-automatic or automatic tools and machines
Ability to properly use precision tools to take accurate measurements
Solid knowledge of the properties of metals and other materials
Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints and manuals
Solid math and analytical skills
Proficient in the use of CAD software is a must
Mastercam experience is an asset
Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Works well independently but also great in team settings
Red Seal Certified would be considered an asset
Highly proficient on manual lathes and milling machines
Work Conditions
Ability to stand for a lengthy period
Ability to physically lift up to 50lbs
Overtime as required
Weekend work may be required

Starting wage rates/hour will follow the ranges below and will be determined based on skill and experience:
Rate $27.00 - $38.00/hr

Diploma or Degree in General Machining, or relevant industry experience
Minimum 7 years’ licensed machinist
Red Seal Certified
Certificate of Apprenticeship
