Requirements

We are currently looking for an experienced Material Coordinator / Buyer to join our applications and product development team.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Place purchase requisitions to maintain adequate stock levels of all storeroom materials, including machine spare parts, consumables, and supplies

  • Coordinate with Materials team to ensure that all required parts/ equipment are available when needed, interface with ongoing project timelines

  • Monitor inventory levels, along with lead times, to maintain proper minimum & maximum stock levels

  • Track, monitor and maintain PO deliveries and liaise with other departments to administer changes with minimal impact to build schedules.

  • Issue and maintain records as needed

  • Provide follow up on purchased items with suppliers.

  • Utilize spreadsheets for tracking inventory, MRP system, planning ordering schedules, and calculating costs for purchases

  • Locate data in a variety of forms such as invoices, shipping receipts, special order request forms and new product information sheets.

  • Negotiate contracts, resolve disputes, agreements, and terms with new suppliers and existing suppliers.

  • Reconcile discrepancies with quotes and purchase orders

  • Aid in shipping and receiving duties

  • Be cognizant of project timelines as it relates to project management

  • Adhere to all related safe work practices and customer safety requirements


Education:


  • Post-Secondary Education in Business Administration, Commerce or Economics considered an asset.

  • Certificate in purchasing from the Purchasing Management Association of Canada considered an asset.

  • Relevant work experience will also be considered


Experience / Skills:


  • 2+ years of industry experience preferred

  • Experience with variety of computer applications (Microsoft Office, etc.)

  • Strong background in purchasing hardware/general components

  • Ability to work independently, as well as in teams with co-workers to ensure effective forecasting, and product distribution

  • Able to communicate with co-workers, customers and suppliers about operational matters.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to ever-changing priorities.

  • Possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written

  • Engage in continuous learning to keep up-to-date information on new products and market trends


Salary: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
