Requirements
Roles and Responsibilities
We are currently looking for a skilled and motivated Machinist to operate a variety of machines to complete given projects & tasks. You will be expected to produce/repair precision parts using manual equipment with accurate measurements. We are looking for an experienced individual with a keen eye for detail, can work independently and with little to no supervision as this is a senior level position while demonstrating and adhering to Health and Safety precautions.
A strong candidate will demonstrate a solid ability to:
Review drawings, instructions or sample parts to grasp the specifications of the project
Plan and organize the sequence of actions, appropriate work holding and tooling needed for completing parts or projects
Select and setup the appropriate machines for the parts or projects based on the dimensioning and tolerancing conveyed on the drawing(s)
Proper selection of gauging equipment based on dimensioning and tolerancing conveyed on the drawing(s)
Perform quality control on parts or projects to ensure they are within the proper specifications/tolerances
Follow process flows and procedures for conforming and nonconforming parts
Perform routine machine maintenance and carry out minor repairs when necessary to ensure the machines are in good working order
Qualifications and Core Skills
Should have own set of basic tools to support their Machinist trade (micrometers, indicators, caliper etc.)
At least 9 years’ experience in the field as a Machinist
Experience using/programming manual, semi-automatic or automatic tools and machines
Ability to properly use precision tools to take accurate measurements
Solid knowledge of the properties of metals and other materials
Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints and manuals
Solid math and analytical skills
Proficient in the use of CAD software is a must
Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Works well independently but also great in team settings
Red Seal Certified would be considered an asset
Highly proficient on manual lathes and milling machines
Must be able to work with little to no supervision
Experience:
CAD software: 7 years (preferred)
Machining: 9 years (required)
Licence/Certification:
Red Seal Certificate (required)
Work Conditions
Ability to stand for a lengthy period
Ability to physically lift up to 50lbs
Overtime as required
Weekend work may be required

Pay: $45.00-$52.00 per hour
